1. Coolpad Note 3
Coolpad has launched their first ever smartphone in India, Dazen 1 which did a decent job for the company. Though Coolpad has been in India since 2009, they haven’t launched their own smartphone instead they are being sold are re-branded devices in India, Micromax’s YU Yureka is a re-branded Coolpad smartphone. Now Coolpad and Dazen have slipped their ways and have become two individual new identities, Coolpad has launched their first smartphone called the Coolpad Note 3 which is currently the hot talk of the town with a fingerprint sensor on board and priced at Just Rs.9K.
Coolpad Note 3 is powered with 1.3 GHz 64-bit Mediatek MT6753 Octa-core Processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM which is something out of the box and ensure a lag-free and smooth performance. Also, it is the only smartphone to come with 3 GB RAM and Fingerprint sensor under 10,000 INR price. It sports a 5.5 inches TFT IPS capacitive touchscreen (1280 x 720 pixels) display and 267 PPI pixel density. The dual SIM smartphone supports 4G on both the slots and runs on Cool UI 6.0 on top of the Android v5.1 Lollipop.
Apart from that, it has 16 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 64 GB with microSD cards. Along with that, the device is packed with 3000 mAh lithium-ion battery and you can expect a good battery backup from the device. The Coolpad Note 3 features a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5 element lens, and LED flash. It has got a 5 MP front-facing camera as well. The picture quality of both the cameras is really good.
Overall, the Coolpad Note 3 is a great dual SIM android smartphone with 5.5 inches HD display, 3000 mAh battery, 13 MP & 5 MP camera. But, what makes Note 3 really unique is the 3GB RAM and the only smartphone under 150$ to come with a fingerprint sensor. Also, it has an excellent build quality and design. I highly recommended this android device under 10,000 INR.

2. Micromax Yu Yureka Plus
Yu has proved itself to be the most successful series of Micromax. When the first handset of this series, Micromax Yureka was launched, it was a huge success. After about 6 months later, Yu came up with its iteration, Yu Yureka Plus which again proved to be a success for the company and now manufacturers have relaunched the smartphone with Full HD Display. Let’s have a look at the specifications of the device.
Yu Yureka Plus is a 64-bit device powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa Core Processor clocked at 1.5 GHz which causes some heating problem, but now this issue has been fixed up to some extent with software optimizations. The device comes with 2 GB of RAM which is a plus point and makes multitasking and high-end usage smoother. Yureka Plus runs on Android v5.1 Lollipop, based on CyanogenMod 12 OS which allows you to make desired customizations in the device. The device is very well built with 5.5 inches IPS LCD touchscreen protected by Gorilla Glass 3. As I earlier mentioned, Yureka plus has got full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 401 PPI pixel density.
The device comes with 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB. The user can initially access only 12.5 GB and the rest is consumed by the operating system. Another important feature of a smartphone is its camera and Yureka plus has got good picture quality with 13-MP Primary Camera and a 5-MP Secondary Camera. It is powered by 2500 mAh Li-ion battery which gives a moderate battery backup to the user.
Overall, the Micromax Yu Yureka Plus is a great device with great specifications. If you’re looking for a smartphone under 10,000 rupees with a sturdy design, big screen, lots of customization facility and decent battery backup, this device is a good choice. Otherwise, keep reading and have a look at the other smartphones as well.

3. Lenovo A7000
Lenovo A7000 is one of the best android mobile phones under 10,000 price segment. Since, the beginning of 2015, Lenovo has launched devices with great specifications back to back such as Lenovo Vibe X2 Pro, Lenovo A1900, Lenovo A5000, Lenovo A6000, A7000 and recently they came up with Lenovo Phab and Phab Plus smartphones.
Lenovo A7000 smartphone is powered by MediaTek (MT6752m) chipset clocked at 1.5 GHz Octa-core processor. The device is equipped with 2 GB RAM which makes it capable of handling heavy applications and games without lagging. It runs on Android v5.0 with Lenovo’s custom UI known as Vibe 2.0. Lenovo A7000 has got 5.5 inches screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 267 PPI pixel density (a bit less than Yureka Plus) but the display quality is great.
The handset comes with 8 GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB with microSD. Out of 8 GB storage the user can access only 4.82 GB of internal memory and the rest is used by operating system and applications. Apart from that, it comes with 2900 mAh Li-ion removable battery giving you around 10 hours of backup for calling. It is the first ever smartphone that is loaded with Dolby Atmos Sound System.
It is equipped with 8-MP primary camera (with LED Flash) and 5-MP rear camera. The only problem with the smartphone is its underwhelming camera. Under the 10000 price segment, there are many smartphones with a good camera and this is the reason that this device wasn’t much noticeable. The camera quality is good but not up to the mark which can’t be ignored as the camera is an important feature of a smartphone.
If we sum it up, the device, Lenovo A7000 is fairly awesome with great features (except the camera). Anyone looking for a lightweight device with a big screen, decent battery backup, and a lag-free experience can straight away go for it. I highly recommend this handset because I personally use it daily and I’m really satisfied with it.
However, Lenovo has launched a successor to A7000 smartphone, the A7000 Plus. For more details, you can read Lenovo A7000 plus review here.

5. Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen)
Even though I ain’t obsessed with Motorola but I think it is the only manufacturer out in the market that believes in providing greater user experience and value for your money instead of filling the smartphone with unlimited unnecessary features. Earlier in 2014, when Moto G was launched, it was simply the best possible choice you could get but, unfortunately, many of the android smartphones that have launched under Rs 10,000 have proven to be better as Moto G had plenty of things to work upon which its competition swooped in and grabbed.
So, in September 2014 Motorola came up with the successor of Moto G, Moto G (2nd Gen). It also created a hype when launched and was able to provide user satisfaction. Let’s get into the Moto G (2nd Gen) price, specifications and features.

Along with that, it comes with non-removable Li-ion 2070 mAh battery which might seem less but gives a decent battery backup.
With Moto devices, you can expect regular software updates and optimizations, faster than anyone else. If you believe in quality over quantity like Motorola, Moto G(2nd Gen) is a good to go android device up to Rs 10,000. It offers smooth lag-free experience, decent camera and battery backup, enough internal storage and gets regular updates. What more does a general user need in a $150 budget smartphone?
If you can increase your budget by Rs. 3,000, then you must go with Moto G(3rd Gen) which sports a 5 inches screen with 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 13+5MP camera, 2470 mAh battery and many more features.

10. Lava Pixel V1 (Android One 2.0)
Lava is undoubtedly one of the great smartphone manufacturers in India. Last year, Google in partnership with local manufacturers like Micromax, Karbonn & Spice launched its Android One program in India to give a pure Android experience with decent hardware at a low price. Unlike other Android One smartphones, Lava Pixel V1 seems promising.
The device is powered by 1.3 GHz paired with 2 GB RAM which provides a decent performance for normal daily usage but is not appropriate for heavy usage or high-end gaming. Lava Pixel V1 runs on Android v5.1.1 Lollipop with Stock UI.
