Coolpad has launched their first ever smartphone in India, Dazen 1 which did a decent job for the company. Though coolpad has been in India since 2009 they haven’t launched their own smartphone instead they are being sold are re-branded devices in India, Micromax’s YU Yureka is a re-branded Coolpad smartphone. Now Coolpad and Dazen have slipped their ways and have become two new identities, Coolpad has launched their first smartphone called the Coolpad Note 3 which is currently the hot talk of the town with a fingerprint sensor on board and priced at Just Rs.9K, here we will have a look at the specifications overview and design of the smartphone.
Specifications of Coolpad Note 3:
The device features a 5.5-inches HD (1280*720) display with a pixel density of 267 PPI, though the display isn’t a Full HD we still like how bright the display is, it has decent viewing angles and decent color reproduction. But the fact that there is a slight pixelation at certain angles cannot be left out. On the whole, the display should be decent enough for the price we pay.
The Coolpad Note 3 is Powered by MediaTek MT6753 Soc with a 1.7GHz Octa-Core processor coupled with Mali T720 GPU. There is 3GB of Ram and 16GB internal storage with an SD card slot for memory expansion up to 64GB, so we guess storage issue can be ruled out as we have ample amount of storage on board. Going by the internal specs the device will perform exceptionally well in day to day usage and multitasking on the phone should be a breeze with 3GB of Ram.
Cameras on the Note 3 feature a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and noise cancelling secondary microphone, the rear camera can record videos in 1080p Full HD. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel fixed focus shooter for selfies and video calls via Skype or any other third party application. Being a device that costs just Rs.9K we couldn’t ask any more in the camera department but that doesn’t mean we will make peace if the performance is not up the mark.
Connectivity features include 4G LTE/ 3G HSPA+, Dual SIM with dual Standby. The 4G SIM slot allows you to insert a 4G sim and access the 4G network if it’s available at your location. Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n are built-in. A 3,000mAh battery will last for an entire day thus providing a decent battery backup. The main specialty or highlight of the smartphone is the Fingerprint sensor on the rear side, Note 3 marks to be the first ever smartphone under 10K price range to feature a Fingerprint sensor which will draw the attention of many tech geeks like us out there.
Build: The device is built out of good quality plastic though the rim that runs on sides resembles metal, but it’s still made of plastic. On top, we have the 3.5MM audio jack, on the right side we just have the volume rocker buttons which provide a good amount of feedback when pressed. On the left side, there is power on/off button and nothing else. On the rear, there is 13MP camera sensor and stripping the back panel we have access to Dual SIM slots and a Micro SD card slot, a 3000mAh battery which isn’t removable. On the front 5.5-inches display, usual set of sensors, front camera and three capacitive buttons that do not light up when pressed as they are just painted in white.
